Entrances and Parking Areas
- Off-street parking rather than on-street parking is recommended for safety reasons.
- Parked vehicles must not block main entrances to allow passage in case of an emergency.
- No parking is permitted on the bridle path along Newberry Street.
- The Hitchcock Woods Foundation plans to designate, limit, and organize all entrances for trailers and/or vehicles.
- The formal entrances to the Woods are the Foundation’s point of contact with users and must be used as an opportunity for communication. The Foundation plans to place a kiosk at every formal entrance to the Woods.
- The Foundation plans to have emergency access and 911 signage in place at all formal entrances. Each kiosk will include a laminated map with an arrow indicating in red “You are here.”
- Foot paths created by private usage, especially where private property adjoins to the Woods, is discouraged. The Foundation cannot monitor the condition of these paths.
