Hours, Entrances and Parking

The Hitchcock Woods is open 365 days/year from sunup to sundown. Admission is free.

During the Aiken Hounds hunt season, October 15th through March 15th, the Woods are closed to non-hunting equestrians and to dog walkers on:

Tuesdays: 1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Saturdays: 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Alphanumeric signs are posted on trees at strategic locations in the Woods. The alphanumeric codes (e.g., C-13) correlate to the letters and numbers on the grid overlaid on the official Hitchcock Woods map. This safety feature is designed to help visitors identify their location in the event of an emergency, and to direct emergency responders who are dispatched to incidents in the Woods.

There are seven main entrances to the Woods. Parking for horse trailers is available at the 263 Rubins Cottage Ln entrance, (Stable on the Woods off of Dibble Rd), and limited trailer parking along side the Aiken County Historical Museum wall on South Boundary Ave SW (South Boundary Ave SW entrance).
