Field Program: Moth Night Out

June 24 @ 8:30 pm - 10:30 pm
Free

Please note that registration is required and carpooling is highly encouraged. If you register and are no longer able to attend, please cancel your registration or contact hlevy@hitchcockwoods.org so that someone else can take your spot.

Join HWF and guest field trip leader Amanda Hurst, Outreach Coordinator with the UGA Savannah River Ecology Lab , for a family-friendly Moth Night Out! Parking will be at Stable on the Woods (263 Rubins Cottage Lane) and we will have two stations set up near the main trail entrance with lights to attract moths. Amanda will help identify the amazing winged wonders we see!

There are two time slots available to sign-up for (8:30-9:30 and 9:30-10:30). You are welcome to bring a folding chair and a flashlight. If you’d like to use bug spray, please use it either at home or by the car before joining the group. There are no public restrooms or places to refill a water bottle, so please plan accordingly. A friendly reminder that this is a special event occurring outside the Wood’s normal hours of operation, as we close at sunset.
