Sandhills Stroll Series: Native Plant Walk

April 4 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am
Free

Please note that registration is required and carpooling is highly encouraged.

Join us for a native plant walk! Benjamin Overlie, botanist and member of Augusta’s River Region of the Georgia Native Plant Society, will identify the amazing floral diversity of the Woods on this guided hike. We will enter at the Tea Cottage Entrance (1770 Dibble Rd, Aiken SC 29801/across from Rhone St). Parking is along Dibble Rd – please make sure to pull well off the shoulder. We will walk a ~1.5 mile loop – please note that trails are sandy and have grading topography. We will walk slowly, taking lots of breaks to look at plants. Please bring comfortable shoes to walk in, sunscreen, water, and snacks. You may also want to bring a camera and a notebook to record our plant observations. There are no public restrooms or places to refill a water bottle, so please plan accordingly.
